Gifts
Seeing your lovely faces on our wedding day is the best gift we could ask for, but if you do wish to give something extra, we would kindly ask for a contribution of money towards our honeymoon.
You can also send this via Paypal using this link: paypal.me/johnandlilly if you would prefer.
P.S. We are so incredibly grateful to all of the people who have already contributed to our wedding day (whether by providing accommodation, helping with food, or offering support in other ways). Your generosity has helped to make our wedding day so special and we do not require any further gift!
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I bring a plus one?
Due to capacity, it is not possible for every guest to have a plus one, so whoever your invite has been addressed to will indicate who has been invited.
Are children allowed?
Children are more than welcome to be a part of our special day and as stated above, we have named all of the invitees on the envelopes to your invites. However, if the kids would prefer to have some peace and quiet whilst their parents party the night away, we promise we won’t be offended if you decide to leave the little ones at home!
Is it okay to take photos at the wedding?
Of course! We would only ask that all phones are put away during the ceremony and speeches, as we want our guests to be fully present during those moments.
What is the dress code?
Dress to impress! The bridesmaids will be wearing shades of green (in case you would like to avoid this colour) and the bride will be wearing white (definitely avoid this colour).
What type of food will be served?
The wedding meal will be served buffet-style with options to suit everyone and there will be a selection of snacks available in the evening to keep everyone going into the wee hours. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions when completing your RSVP.
Will there be drinks provided?
We will be providing beer, wine and fizz alongside the meal. The evening will be BYOB - although we may still have a selection of drinks available, depending on how much the day guests drink!
How can I get to Kinlochbervie?
Public transport is very limited so please make plans in advance to ensure your travel goes smoothly. The Far North Bus service runs from Inverness to Kinlochbervie every Monday to Saturday, but capacity is VERY limited! You can find details of the timetable here: https://www.thedurnessbus.com/durnessnew/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/PDF-805-Timetable-May-2024.pdf
Where can I park?
If you have booked accomodation, there will be appropriate parking provided at your lodgings. If you are driving to the wedding ceremony or the evening, there will be limited parking available outside the high school, very close to both the Church and the Village hall (marked on the "Location" card with your invite).
How far is it to walk from the Church to the Village Hall?
It is only a 3-minute walk between the two venues.
How can I get to and from the wedding if I am staying out of the village?
There will be a mini-bus running throughout the day, more details will be posted here closer to the time.
